We experienced that methods that were demonstrated to the teaching staff were tested more. In preparation of the workshop the participants were asked which methods were interesting for them.
In this 3 hours workshop we focused on 3 methods:
- Action Bound: Hannelore Verstappen showed how she worked with this app in her course ‘teaching methods geography’
- Petal debate: a current newsitem was selected and different petals where formed to discuss a statement. Afterwards there was a debate.
We experienced how important it is to have a good statement in order to have a good petal debate.
Flipped classroom: David Stienaers works flipped in his courses of Latin. First he defined working flipped: what it is and what it is not. Thereafter he showed which tools could be used to support this way of working and demonstrated how he uses them in his courses
