The DigiComp Framework created by the EC has formed the bedrock in recent years of initiatives to support the up-skilling of teaching staff at all levels of education. It provides a really useful reference framework that describes what it means to be digitally competent. It sets out the 21 competences necessary to be digitally competent and maps these across 8 proficiency levels, from the most basic to advanced levels. This new guide is intended for anyone – whether individual or organisation – working to promote digital skills in formal education and training, non-formal or informal learning initiatives or offering training and professional development in the workplace. The guide includes a broad range of examples from those who use DigComp aimed at inspiring new and further adaptation of the framework.
